Montblanc 1858 Manual Small Second 112638 Orologio NEW

Watch is UNWORN, perfect with box & papers. FREE SHIPPING Montblanc 1858 Manual Small Second is the vintage style collection inspired by the Minerva legacy. 44mm steel case. Black dial with legendary shaped hands and small seconds at 6 o'clock. Brown leather strap. Manual winding mechanical movement. Watertightness up to 30m. The dial The Montblanc 1858 Manual Small Second, as its name implies, features a hand-wound mechanical movement. Its inventory of functions is limited to hours, minutes and a small running seconds positioned on a subdial just above 6 o’clock. The black dial has a soft-spoken, self-effacing matte surface, appearing to deferentially sit back and allow the other dial details to take the limelight. Generously sized ‘cathedral’ hour and minute hands impart time with a noteworthy mixture of functionality and style. The silver-toned, rhodium-plated hands are lined with luminescent fill, transcending the perfunctory with their elegant form to pronounce the time with a commendable degree of eloquence. Arabic numerals denote the hours in white and, courtesy of their luminescent treatment, offer ease of read-off, day or night. The font employed, absent of serifs, delivers a no-nonsense approach to design, augmenting ease of interpretation. The small seconds display is framed with a chemin de fer, providing a seemly means of delineation. Encircling the main dial-scape is a railway track, employing super-slender white lines and featuring Arabic numerals every 5-minute integer. Reinforcing the 1930s vintage feel of the timepiece is a Montblanc period correct logo. The movement The hand-wound Calibre MB 23.03 is beautiful with its palpably honest design. Three movement bridges, sporting sharp, angular edges provide a clean, uncluttered appearance. The bridges are adorned with Côte de Genève motif and polished jewel and screw sinks. The ratchet wheel is embellished with sunray-brush, while blued screws vie with ebullient rubies for the attention of the wearer. This is a very attractive movement. I appreciate being able to see the balance wheel, the centre wheel, the third wheel, the click and the index adjuster. Unlike many modern watches, the mechanical magic is not hidden behind a sea of oversized bridges. This is a movement which has a retro-appearance and confers sight of the various movement components, indulging my desire to see the various parts at play. The balance has a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz), the movement contains 17 jewels and the sole spring barrel delivers approximately 46 hours of autonomy.
